W3C Process

The MashSSL Alliance itself is not a standards organization, and while our mission is to promote the widespread adoption of a free and open MashSSL standard, we will not be the actual stewards of the standard. Rather it is our belief that the path towards standardization is best handled within the framework of an internationally recognized standards organization which has a well established legal and administrative framework. We are pleased that the W3C has agreed to allow us to start the process under its umbrella.

A subset of the MashSSL Alliance members, who are also members of the W3C, formed the MashSSL Incubator XG to move forward the standardization process. Their work resulted in a report that can be found here. More information about the W3C process can be found in the MashSSL Incubator XG which also contains links to the list of members, discussion group, etc.
